I was born on Dec. 27, 1969 in Buehl/Germany, started playing piano and flute at the age of 6, became a pretty good flute player but discovered the guitar at the age of 12 - from then on nothing else mattered anymore.

I took classical guitar lessons and played in various rock bands. At the age of 18 I started studying classical guitar at Stuttgart university and was making a living playing in a blues-rock trio.

I toured all over Europe with the great black soul singer Sidney “Guitar Crusher” Selby, my great friend, legendary Texas singer-songwriter, Richard Dobson and California slide guitar master Billy Goodman, had a studio in Germany and produced various records there (see projects). At the age of 34, I got a green card and moved to Nashville…a life-long dream had come true.

My wife Eva and I bought a house, I set up my studio, got two dogs, Stella and Lucy and started playing, recording and producing.

Since then I’ve recorded and performed with Nanci Griffith, Mary Gauthier, David Olney, Steve Young, Toni Catlin, Jubal Lee Young and many other wonderfully talented people.

I’m writing quite a lot, mainly with my friend Frank Goodman, we’re also performing as “The Morning Boys” with our good buddy Peter Cronin.

My main occupation these days is to play guitar with the amazing Mary Gauthier. What a treat to get to play with such an amazing artist and person. I can’t begin to explain how much that means to me.

I wanted to move to Nashville when I was 12 years old…I’m here now, and I’m enjoying the heck out of it.
