Hi
everybody,
hope
you’re having a wonderful summer. Things are great here
in Mt.Juliet/Tennessee.
I
just got off the road from a five week tour of Europe with
Nanci Griffith and the Blue Moon Orchestra. We’ve been to
Finland, Sweden, Norway, Scotland, England and Ireland and
we had a hell of a good time. I joined Nanci’s band in April.
Another dream come true for me. I’ve been a huge fan for
so many years. It’s incredible to share the stage with her.
My best friend and favourite drummer Pat McInerney is in
the band. Being on the road with your friends, playing those
great songs, how much better could it be?
I’ve
been writing a lot of songs with my friends Frank Goodman
and Peter Cronin. We’re having a great time doing it. I’ve
been writing with Jubal Young and Charley Stefl as well.
Writing
has become a major part of my life and I’m loving it.
I’ve
produced records for Irish songwriters Tony Mc Loughlin
and Liam Merriman this year. Tony got a publishing deal
with a great Nashville publishing company and will be back
here in Nashville soon to record more songs. Toni Catlin
and I have worked on an acoustic record, we finished my
friend Mark Barker’s Gospel record, I’m planning to start
work on an instrumental record with my friends Mark Fain
on bass and Pat McInerney on drums. It’ll be a combination
of German Folk songs and originals. We’re very excited about
this project!
Jubal
Lee Young’s new record is getting great reviews, he’ll be
touring Europe in the fall.
I’m
in the finishing stages of a record with my friend Joe Bidewell,
he’s an amazing writer and player, very unique stuff, he
played with John Cale in the 80s and lived at the Chelsea
Hotel, you can imagine that he’s got quite a few good stories
to tell.
I’ll
be on the road with Nanci later this month and for some
shows with Nanci and Judy Collins in September. I’m really
looking forward to that.
I’m
planning to go to Ireland later this year for some shows
with Liam Merriman and to maybe play some solo dates in
Germany and might play some dates in Texas with Richard
Dobson in October..
